Elliotsville:

FSM completed the Elliotsville project in late 2007. It consists of a donated easement on approximately 200 acres close to the Maine Audubon Society's Borestone Mountain preserve and the Appalachian Trail. The land adds a key new conservation parcel into the Hundred-Mile Wilderness region near Moosehead Lake, an area that is experiencing increasing pressures from development. Conservation of this property will ensure timber management, as well as preserve the scenic, ecological, and recreational values of these special forestlands. |
