Oakfield:

At nearly 400 acres, the Oakfield project area is nestled among the hills and ridges southeast of Oakfield and southwest of Houlton. Almost two-thirds of the property is low-lying mixed-wood and softwood forest, and the surrounding one-third is comprised of an extensive wetland and stream system. This area has been mapped by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife as having high value for waterfowl and wading bird habitat, and the easement on the property will ensure in perpetuity that these resources remain.
